    Off roster Sig elite.

Hey all, here is the situation. My brother really wants a Sig Elite, but it is not on the CA roster. He is a California resident, and his girlfriend is currently a resident of Mississippi. She is planning on moving out here in November. I just read the sticky about the roster, and to my understanding, she can purchase the Sig Elite in Mississippi (being a resident of MS), and then move out here with it in November. And after she changes her residency to California, she can then PPT it to my brother. Am I correct, or am I missing something?

Unless I'm missing something as well, that is 100% correct. The girlfriend would fill out the proper form when she moves here, then she is free to PPT the pistol, as FTF PPT is roster exempt. If I'm wrong, librarian will be here later to sort it all out, but I believe that's right.

Might be easier to just SSE it.

That's one way, but don't have your brother writing any checks to his girlfriend for the purchase price of an Elite just prior to her purchasing it.

I believe she has to register the gun in CA before PPT'ing it.

No, she has 60 days from bringing the handgun into the state to register it or ppt it at an FFL. Either will make the state happy as it puts it in the system
