    Which Sig is this?

I am looking for a Sig pistol that fits:

    - Thin profile (single stack?)
    - railed
    - shorter barrel (about the size of p229)
    - 9mm

I am looking at the P229R. That seems to be the only thing fitting the bill the most. I would prefer a full german made, but I think thats a bit out of stretch haha. Any suggestion?
I'd rather be at the range!

239 is single stack, but I don't think they make one with a rail.

I would say the 229 enhanced elite. The grips are a little smaller on the enhanced. Or at least that how it felt when I was comparing the two.

The P225 or P6 (no rail though)

I was thinking 220r compact, until the 9mm part came up.

Sig does not offer anything that meets your requirements.

              Definitely not factory though...

Single stack is a P239, P220 or an older, now out of production, P225 (which is sometimes called a P6). A P229 is not single stack, and it is up to your definition of if it is "slim" at 1.25"-ish thick.

Single stack in 9mm is a P239 or P225. There are a few 9mm P220s floating around but they are super rare and don't have rails.

You could make a franken-Sig with a P220R frame with a 9mm top end and magazines, but that is a full sized pistol, not a compact. It would be not cost effective either as you would have to buy 2 guns then probably swap out a few parts in the 220R frame to get the 9mm top end to lock up correctly.

I agree with others that a P229 is probably what you really want.

If you want a full German one and you have the $$$ then contact Afton Arms and they can import one for you, then you would need to get it single shot transferred (more $$$) as it will be stamped by the importer and won't match the roster.

The only real difference is the coating. Current production German guns are Ifalon coated, which gives you a dark black smooth and shiny gun. The US made ones are annodized frames and Nitron-ed slides, which are more matte and have more texture on the frames, meaning less smooth, but arguably easier to hold on to.

I have a one US made Sig (P229) and the rest are either totally German (P225, X-Five) or "Frame made in Germany" rest made in USA (P226) Other then asthetics, and some models not available made in US, there is no difference.

The SIG 225 (P6) fits your requirement except for the rail.

The Sig 229R meets them except being a single stack and German made

The latest limited run of SIG 228R would fit if you could find one...well, partly fit as only the slide is German made...except not being single stack

As a note, the 225 and the 229 are the same thickness...the grips on the 225 are a lot thicker

P228R may also fit your criteria

Never heard of afton arms. They able to import the German 2022's with iffalon finish? Been wanting that model with that finish forever.

I shoot alot of sigs but haven't held a current German model with iffalon before. Hear alot like it.

Funny enough the west German CPO's are being refinished in nitron, normally they would have only done bluing.

Isn't there a p290 that's either new or about to come out? It's small; no idea about a rail tho.
