Hey guys so a while back I made this thread, while attempting to decide which route to take when modifying my 22/45 grips to become compatible with 1911 grip panels. The following is what I ended up doing.
I went through Tech Customs, http://www.tech-custom.com/. I ordered a set of black 1911 grip panels, and 5 base pads.
It's a "one-man-band" type operation but the guy knows what he's doing, and at the prices he's charging you really can't beat the product/ease of installation.
No shaving down the side panels, no bushing installation, had mine on in 5 minutes flat after they were completely unwrapped.
I've already put over 1,500 rounds through the gun with these grips installed and absolutely no play in the grips or any adjustments needed so far.
Definitely a product worth checking out if you own or are looking to purchase a CA legal version of the Ruger 22/45.
I'd post pictures but I hate posting pictures of my guns online!
