Well, I'm an idiot, and I lost my firing pin safety plunger spring for my series 80. I can order one online, but I'd rather not pay double the product price just for the shipping. It's a long shot, but does anyone local to the high desert area have an extra they'd be willing to sell?

Next time buy a 1911 without the FPS! JMB would have put one in the original design if it was needed!

Why not call around your local gun shops, especially ones that work on 1911's? You might get lucky.

Unfortunately, that's what I spent today doing. I wish we had more 1911 oriented smiths in the high desert, but we're pretty limited.

Order a bunch of extras along with some extra grip screws, recoil springs, firing pin springs, bronze brushes, patches, etc. It's easy to get up a cost effective order. And if you would have done this the last time, you'd already have a spare.
