Springfield Warranty, How long does it usually take?

Just curious, If you guys sent in your gun/guns to Springfield what was the turn around time? I sent my TRP out to Springfield 8/15. I've been searching other forums online and most are getting 2-3 weeks. Some are getting there gun back as soon as 5 days from when they ship it out.

When your pistol goes in for warranty service, it actually goes to SACS, so turn-around time is completely dependent on busy they are. If memory serves me correctly, it takes 10 days before your pistol reaches SACS after it is delivered. On Monday, they can tell you if your pistol reached SACS, and provide an ETA on the work from there.

Ah ic. Thanks for letting me know. Also is this a common problem with the TRP? I've seen a couple people who had this issue, including myself which is why I sent mine in for repairs. See video for details.

Sure, that happened to my pistol recently when my spring guide shot backwards and hit the barrel legs during assembly, causing the barrel link to be stuck in place, but that issue isn't exclusive to the TRP, or any manufacturer in particular.

The aftermath was slightly worse than what was noted in the video, but was immediately resolved with a few strokes from a needle file. Took about 20 minutes, which included disassembly and reassembly.

It depends upon their workload and what needs to be done. By any standard they are both "good" and "fast" imho. If it makes you feel any better Kimber has one of my 1911's since July 12th and I haven't heard a word from them yet :/ ; they told me to expect a 5 week turn-around so hopefully I'll hear something in a week or so.

They usually pretty good & faster that what they are promised. Beside the waiting time, they'll for sure make it right for you.

When I sent my Springfield in for warranty service, I took FULL advantage of the free shipping and trip to the Custom Shop, and among other things, had them checker and undercut the front strap while it was there.

Not much more that can be done with the TRP though, is there? LOL.

Sure there is- magwell work (weld-on, add-on, or open up existing area), beauty work (ball cuts, french borders, flat top & serrate, etc), comp barrel & bushing set, etc...

I just bought a Springfield and had to send it to the factory before I even got to shoot it. Defects right out of the box. I'm sure SA will make it right.

I've purchased 2 SA's that had to go back, one new, one used. I'm almost happy to have an SA 1911 needing to go back to them, they do you up right!

I sent back a 2004 Loaded, and had it stop by the custom shop on it's way home. Silky smooth now, very nice. Had the FS checkered, blended magwell, and a trigger job.

The other was a new TRP. It came back super nice. I'm glad it had to go in

The TRP took maybe 2-3 weeks (or less), service was great. The loaded - due to a stop at the CS, took longer. Very happy with both though...

They have an excellent shop...
