    Steyr Spp 9mm

Hey guys i didnt know where to post this. Feel free to move it. I recently found out that under a private party transfer, it is legal to buy a MAC 10 in ca. I was wondering if it were the same for a Steyr SPP 9mm? If so would anyone know a place to find one?

I don't think the SPP can be transfered in CA, since all the one's I've ever seen have a threaded barrel, and I've never heard of a manufacturer of a non threaded barrel, although I guess you could grind off the threads on the barrel.

And I don't recall of any 10 round mags available for a SPP......

Assuming you had the mags, I think it would be legal. The one I saw in Turners about 6 years ago had what looked like an unthreaded slug on the end of the barrel. It also was never named at all on the Kasler list.

I passed it up as it was a bit clunky for my tastes- probably should'a bought it- it was cheap!

i shot it years ago when i was about 13 before the ban bs. It was really nice. So if i find one on gun broker, and it is a private party transfer, can i purchase one without the mags?

assuming no threaded barrel and the seller is in CA, then I don't see why not.

Yes, you can purchase guns without magazines. I plan on buying this S&W 5906 police trade in w/ 2 15 round hi-caps. The dealer was willing to sell the gun without the mags.
