    Question about FNP-40 CCW

I currently own an FN FNP-40. I'm looking into getting a Utah Non-Resident CCW. Based upon the size of the gun, how easy would people who own similar sized handguns think it would be to use this as a concealed carry weapon? Comfort wise & hiding wise, do you think it could be too big?

    Mind you, I'm 6'1 & 175lbs or so.

    Gun specs: http://www.fnmfg.com/products/fnp9/

I'm pretty sure the gun size is the same regardless of caliber.

Also: What method of CCW do you guys use? As in, what style holsters? OWB? IWB? Etc.

This is a very general answer, so much depends on the weather, what you plan on wearing, doing and the specifics of when you carry. I'm a bit over 6' 4" and 190 lbs so I'd say body type we're similar and in theory probably able to conceal a larger gun fairly well. But that doesn't mean carrying a heavier or larger gun is less of a chore.

I started out with a Commander, went with a Detonics for a long time and finally settled on plain old Smith J frames. Sometimes an AMT DAO in 45 ACP. These are both very small guns and can be carried in a pancake or IWB with no problems. The IWB works even under a loose fitting shirt.

I think most folks underestimate the little inconveniences of carrying - the opportunities for the gun to imprint on clothing, be temporarily exposed (as in reaching for that top or low shelf at the store) or to just be uncomfortable. Personally I'd go with something much smaller - maybe one of those mini Glocks or Kahrs instead.

One question on IWB's - When you wear them, you have a shirt tucked in, then wear a shirt over that shirt to cover the handgun?

      Is this correct?
