There was an issue with the slide retention pin wiggles loose during firing resulting in the slide flying off. Is this no longer an issue? How is this little gun as a pocket gun?

How is the S&W Bodyguard 380?

No free man shall ever be debarred the use of arms. The strongest reason
for the people to retain the right to keep and bear arms is, as a last resort,
to protect themselves against tyranny in government - Thomas Jefferson

I'm wondering the same thing..... looking for a pocket gun tooIt's ok to be jealous. We understand your animosity. We live the life you wish you had. And of over 4000 universities and over 1700 division 1 schools, only one is simply known as "The U" -
I bought one last year. Put 100 rounds through it with no problems. Sold the gun to my brother. He had some FTF light primer strikes. He sent it to S&W for some warranty work. I bought the gun back from my brother. I put another 150 rounds with no problems.
The gun is finicky with ammo. Some ammo have hard primers; Independence, Sellier&Bennot and a few others. Personally, I used PNC Bronze, Hornady Critical Defense and WWB with no problems. It's a great little gun.
All the problems occurred with the newer versions. I think S&W have worked out all the major problems.
Check out http://www.bodyguard380.com/forums/ for more info on the gun. See the 380 Bible on how to fine tune the gun
