      +1 on this^

You can get a nicely used one on GB through SSE for much less, or get a new one (which don't have the same stress cracking issues) also by SSE for less. The Delta Elite is a nice gun, but frankly they are nowhere near as collectible as an original series 70 for about the same money.

The full length dust cover rail makes a world of difference in the "when I run out of bullets I'm going to beat you to death with the pistol" look that causes bad guys to run in fear, and lesser men to feel inadequate. It looks just plain beastly and the extra heft up front does help manage recoil a bit better. Plus, an angel told me that when God called JMB to heaven it was to build him a full rail 1911!

Ya I shot the same gun I made him an offer on about a month ago. Ammo is expensive. I honestly enjoy shooting the 45 1911 more. I just figured it would of been a nice addition.

A partner of mine has a stainless delta elite gold cup with a Hoag trigger and reliability package, outstanding pistol. If you really want one, be prepared to spend some money on it, I have never heard of anyone not seeing theirs a a prized pistol...

What is interesting is that cartridge and projectile advancements are such that 10mm's advantages are decreasing more as time goes by. Instead of going for a 10mm, I got a .357 Sig barrel for my XD-40 and will eventually play with different loads for that configuration.

the marketplace here is not the best place to check prices.

the advantages in the cartridge you mentioned are also available in the 10mm especially if you reload.

Too bad you aren't looking for a Delta Gold Cup.

I just got smacked hard with medical bills.

Since its off roster and not showing up too often for a F2F, I paid $1400 for NIB one 6 month ago. No regrets. Nice gun and shoots well (50 rounds through before it went to Colt CS for Tactical package and few more things).

I bought mine a few weeks before I moved from Vegas back to CA. I paid 900 for it BNIB in a face to face transaction. This was a bit over two years ago. I love this pistol. I put her on my CCW permit and carry her at times as she has always shot flawlessly.
Even if I were offered $1200 I don't think I would sell her. Although I can't see selling any of my pistols at this point.
