The cut lines on top of the slide (40 lpi?) is the best thing I've ever had done. It just helps quickly to acquire the sight picture and reduce glare.

This isn't a half rail Operator but it's close (it's a full rail milspec cut down).



This particular one is matte hard chrome.

Anyone recommend a shop they have used in Orange County or Riverside to get a gun Hard chromed?

Techplate does the plating for many smiths in the area. You can get it done yourself, but you have to completely, and I mean completely disassemble and re assemble your gun. Sights are a pain. and you have to take into account the thickness of the plating, it does tighten up the gun a bit, so it can be a challenge.
