    DIY mag pouch.

I recently picked up an LC9 and have been carrying two spare mags in my pocket, the mags aren't very big but adding that to the junk I already carry was a bit of a hassle and fumbling around to get to the mags if I needed them could take seconds I might not be able to afford. I didn't want to go with a standard open top mag pouch because the whole point of getting this LC9 was to have something I could carry in a pocket when wearing shorts and a Tshirt. Anyway I started thinking about ways to carry spares and this is what I came up with, mind you my sewing skills suck and this was more of a prototype/proof of concept.

How it looks from the front

    The back

    And opened up

There are some things I'd like to change but that's the basic concept. It's about the size of an iPhone in length and width and about 2" or so thick and is worn on the belt with the mags laying horizontal.

    Thanks for lookin.

I absolutely love everything about it! With the right materials and configuration it could look like one of those horizontal phone holsters, great way to carry a bunch of magazines! Well played sir.

Having to lift up on the flap is a flaw, pulling down would be ideal. I think having extra material fold in from the sides to help hide the fact that you're carrying mags would be a good add on as well. I'm going to carry it around for awhile as is and come up with other changes as I come up with issues.

I like the idea it's pretty slick. Carrying that much ammo you'd be set for a pretty good firefight! Lol!

How would this be any faster than throwing a spare magazine in a pocket? How big are your pockets? Maybe fashion a pocket holster for your magazine so that you can reach in and pull out a magazine quickly and with it in the right position. Are you using a pocket holster for the gun?

Lol there's only 28 rounds in the pouch.
To Sam. I carry the LC9 in my right pocket, do now my left pocket holds my knife, keys, and my Copenhagen. Moving and or dropping stuff from my pockets is only part of the issue, I'm used to carrying spares on my belt arranged in a way that allows me to not have to fumble and flip the mags to reload. There is no way to keep the mags stacked where I want them if they are loose in my pocket and due to shoulder injuries I sometimes have a loss of sensation in my hands where simple things like signing paperwork can be interesting lol. The way I have the mags stacked allows me to grab and reload in a fluid instinctive motion. I had given some thought to a pocket mag pouch but I like the idea of not having to fumble and dig around with my hands not being 100% all the time.

                Janky? My feelings would be hurt;
                A. If I had any
                And
                B. If I had spent longer than 15 minutes making it lol.

I know virtually anything would be faster than pulling a mag from my pocket.
wallet, phone, keys in there, not to mention no way to index the mag.

But I agree that pulling the flap doen would be the way to go.
                  Nice prototype
