I should stop looking at consignment guns

I had to do a PPT on a gun I sold. I arrived prior to the buyer. Had been looking at a S&W 29-3 with box and papers and cleaning kit (blue cardboard box). Ended up buying it.

It's a 6" in 98% condition. Has a light turn ring but other than that it is in great shape. Even had the original purchase receipt for $310.00!!

I've always thought the Bangor Punta era guns had a bad rep; my 27-3 (not pinned, not recessed) is the nicest Smith in my entire collection. Looks, handles, and shoots like a champ. And the blueing is as gorgeous as any era I've seen.

I gotta get me a matching 29-3!!!

This was in Martinez at Kevin's. If you want an unusal 29, one of his customers has a 8 3/8" with a matt finish from the factory for sale (PPT). I have seen it but have never seen one with that finnish previousy.

update

After 3 days of driving around for work in Kern, San Bernardino, and Los Angeles counties, I left Los Angeles at 7:20 am this morning and headed to Glendale to transfer a C&R rifle. Then up I-5 to 580. Heavy traffic at the Bay Bridge split. Got around all that and went to the Vallejo gun show and picked up my 29-3. DROS-ed another handgun (PPT) and headed home to celebrate my wife's B-day.

thanks. It was originally purchased by an FFL in 1984. I have the original invoice from the distributor to the original buyer who was an FFL. I am the second owner now.
