    Smith & Wesson M&P .40 help

I am not sure if this is the right place to ask this but here it goes. I Currently live in Texas and I am planning to visit California soon for about 3 to 4 weeks. My question is that i want to take my Smith & Wesson M&P .40 full size with thumb safety, is this legal even if it is not on the California sales roster? i am not planning on selling it or giving it away to anybody just going to take it to go to the range. I know the max rounds is 10 in a magazine right?

You can bring in any handgun you want as long as its not what CA calls an AW. Your M&P is fine as long as it doesn't have evil features ( like a threaded barrel ).

The roster of approved handguns only applies to handguns that CA civilian residents wish to purchase from an FFL's inventory.

Not 10 IN the magazine. The magazine can only hold 10. If you have a 12 round mag then youre illegal. Must be only capable of holding 10.

Where in CA you gonna be? If youre gonna be in the LA area and either dont wanna buy 10 rounders or are gonna buy them but dont want to keep them let me know - maybe I can help you out.

Okay thank you very much, you are greatly appreciated. Is a green laser considered an evil feature?
