Anybody know where I can get my hands on one? Apparently TALO wholesalers are only getting 5 to 10 per location. I didn't even know this gun existed... apparently the first batch is shipping (200).

It's a full sized 70 Series Colt with vertical slide serrations (no front serrations). Also included are a rounded MSH, undercut trigger guard, checkering, beveled magwell, NM barrel, etc.

I picked one up used here on GC. A buddy of mine bought two of them online and did SSE on them. It is a great piece. I am in the process of getting it on my carry permit. Just as a point of clarity, it is a commander with a 4.25 inch barrel not a 5". Perfect gun. It has everything on it most would want right out of the box and it is a great shooter. I also have a Night Hawk Custom 1911 and I enjoy shooting the Clapp just as much. It is a great gun. I have about 500 rounds through it and no malfunctions to date. It just wants to shoot. I highly recommend it. Also note that it has an allow frame it is not steel. Good to know that in advance cause some guys don't like LW 1911s. You are welcome to check it out if you are interested. I think its a nice looking pistol and would only need a couple changes imo.

I've seen very minimal publicity regarding this model and it seems to be rather limited. Sigh, anybody got a lead?

Very cool. Did not know. I am sure it is all that the commander size model is and so again, I highly recommend it. Hope you can find one.

I think its a nice looking pistol and would only need a couple changes imo.

very nice looking piece, but i am thrown off. it has a long trigger, a small safety, a bevertail grip, novak (type) sights. it seems to bounce around in the choices of accessories. probably a "willey clapp", choice.

$1625 or so pre tax/dros... wish it was priced more in line with the commander.
