I emphasized the 'max' in maximum because most people read magnum when they see .357.
I have a Ruger Blackhawk with a 10.5 inch barrel chambered in .357 maximum. I've read conflicting statements on how many of these guns were actually made. Wikipedia states only 400 were chambered in .357 max and other sources have the number at much higher.
How rare is this gun? Does anyone have knowledge of how many were actually made? I know about the top strap cutting complaints and when Ruger discontinued them. I am just curious about how many were made.
