Springfield Mil Spec 1911 - Light Rail Attachment?

New to this forum, and wanted some advice. I'm looking into possibly picking up a used Springfield Mil Spec 1911 w/ Stock parts and supposedly around 1,000 rounds fired.
One factor I was looking into were aftermarket Light rail attachments, preferrable Surefire series. As the stock Mil Specs obviously do not have these, but since I'm told that these models are easily customized/modded, how feasible is it for, later on, to get the Light Rail attachment installed?? Is it even possible without replacing the entire lower receiver? Can't afford one of the higher end tactical models that come with the rails, and this is something I might want to add on later as a customization project. Any advice?

You can add a Dawson Light Rail system to a SA mil-spec.

If you don't want to drill your frame, Surefire makes a mount for the 1911. They're pretty expensive, I think about $150.

This one's got my interest... how sturdy is it, and how many rounds been shot with it? Does it hold up well? Since it's kinda pricey ($150 +), I want to see how well it'll hold up in the long run.
