Recommendations on .22LR handguns

Hi all

Anyone recommend a CA compliant .22LR semi-auto that I can use as a training aid and plinker? I normally use 9mm and .40cal semi-autos and of course ammo is getting expensive.

What about the Rugers? They seem to review extremely well.

Browning Buckmark or Ruger Mk III or Ruger 22/45 are your standby "can't go wrong" .22s.

For general plinking, I'd go for a Buckmark or Mark III.

For target competition, my favorite is the S&W Model 41. It's scary accurate, although mine is picky with ammo.

9mm what, 40 what?

Are there conversion kits for your 9mm/40cal? There seems to be a lot of conversion kits out there for everything from 1911's, Glocks, Beretta's, and most are less than a new gun (or same) and allow you to keep using the same weapon for practice at a fraction of the cost.

Ruger MK and Buckmark are the top 22lr IMO. I had both and they both shot great. I had others (GSG 1911, Mosquito) that looks really nice but had trouble with them, especially the Mosquito.

Buckmark and MKII is best, dont get the MK II 45 version, the mag slips in too much at an angle and the floor plate will come off and all the rounds will fall out if you try to speed load....ask me how I know. haha.

Depending on what you shoot there is a good chance there is a conversion kit for at least one of your guns(I know they exist for CZ75s, 1911s, sigs, and things like that)

Another advantage, no 10 day wait for a conversion kit.

ruger mk3. they feed the cheapest ammo you can find. some cool aftermarket for them too. cleaning is a pain tho
