Springfield XDM-5.25 . Are they any good ?

They are perfect for their designed purpose, but while I've handled a couple, I've only shot one.

One took the Bianchi Cup a couple of years ago, so you know that it it amenable to tuning for accuracy...you need ~ 3" handheld groups at 50 yards to be competitive in Production

Had one for a brief moment and thought it was a great pistol with fantastic ergonomics.

I have one, IMO it is a fantastic shooter. It shoots better than me and the trigger is not bad, but not great either.

Compared to Glock 34? What do You think? I am thinking about getting it in 9mm. Out of the box XDM VS. stock G34? Both with 147JHP's.
I carry Glocks on and off duty . Never tried an XDM .....

It should have came with a better trigger considering its a competition gun.

If you put your life in the hands of one system on a daily basis (regardless of the Mfr), why not expand on that system? I would use the opportunity to become even more proficient with my duty/carry system. There's no doubt the XDm 5.25 is a great gun, so there's no functional/mechanical reason not to buy one. I held an XDm a while back, and the grip felt REALLY good, but it's not the system I chose.

Well, the XDm 5.25 was designed specifically to improve on the performance already available from the Glock 34/35. It was designed with input by one of the finest Action Pistol shooters in the world as to what it would take to beat the Glock. While Bianchi Cup isn't shot slowly, it is considered an accuracy game as opposed to a speed game (Steel Challenge) and the 5.25 has proven that it is better suited to it than the G34.

The 5.25 that I shot had a comparable trigger to the last G34 I shot and better than any S&W M&P Pro I've ever shot (only 3). However I've shot one of Robbie's XDs...he sells them after he wins major matches...and that trigger was better than any G34/35 trigger I've ever felt. It felt a lot like a tuned Apex Tactical FSS trigger.

If you can take advantage of the performance of them, choosing between the G34 and the 5.25 might come down to whether you shoot with a locked wrist or a relaxed one

The trigger is more bad than good. I had the PRP Ultimate Match Trigger kit, and still wasn't happy with the performance. Great customer service at PRP, though. They let me return the kit before I sold the pistol to fund another purchase.

If I had to have another Polymer pistol, it would be the 5.25 again. The only down side associated with owning one is the overall cost to own one. Following Interstate Tax, Transfer Fees, and SSE, I was $200 above the cost of the pistol.

^^^ Yes, keep in mind you will have to single shot exempt it, transfer from an out of state ffl, etc. it will be expensive. But it would be my number one choice for IDPA/IPSC shooting. I have a XD9 5" with the PRP ultimate kit and it's been a fantastic gun.

If I remember correctly, I purchased the pistol from Northern Firearms on GB. Cost was $749 shipped, plus $62 Interstate Tax, plus $55 Transfer Fee, plus $100 for SSE, and $25 DROS for grand total $991. Ended up selling it for $850 or $875, so they hold their value very well, and if I'm not mistaken, it sold within minutes of posting.

This was also during a Springfield Gear-Up Promotion, so I got a total of 6 magazines for the pistol.

My duty and my personal G22's GEN4 are great!

It sucks that You had to pay all those fees and SSE . I thought XD's were "safe"? They are in every store. Am I missing something?
