    Spring recommendation for a CBOB?

Started light striking today out of nowhere. Pretty bad too, probably an average of 3 out of 7 in each mag I fired today (About 70 rounds fired today). This really kinda concerned me to be honest because it didn't come on gradually as it has with my other 1911s. I also noticed that once or twice the hammer dropped to half cocked. So I'm going to put new springs in the gun, MS Recoil and firing pin, but now I'm wondering.. should I go with a lighter than stock mainspring? I really don't want to change the feel of the gun too much and I would like to stay just above light striking if possible, though I guess it would be hard to plan it that way. I was planning to go with 20# recoil and maybe an 18# mainspring. Anyone have any words of wisdom before I do this? Should I stick with 23#?

I would talk to Keith at Dan Wesson before I did anything.

Heck, he might send you set for nothing.

That's not a bad idea actually. I kinda figured he would just tell me to go with a 20/23 setup and keep things stock. I'll shoot him a PM and see what he says.

I'd check for an obstruction in the firing pin channel also.

I have a CBOB too, my favorite gun I have and carry it as much as I can (CCW). Just curious, how many rounds do you have through her total before she started light striking? And is this the only/1st problem you've had with her? Thanks.

Looking at around 800-1000 total rounds, this has been the only issue with the gun. It has been a solid performer, reliable and accurate. My only reservation is that the slide stop peens a lot more than a LB, which is not a functional error.

EDIT: Forgot to mention I did clean out the firing pin channel tonight so hopefully that will help. Didn't look particularly gummy in there, but who knows. At the moment, pencil test is the same as before.
