    1911 Grips.

I did a search but didn't come up with anything conclusive.

I recently picked up my first 1911. I like the look of the original Houge grips it came with but don't like the feel. I got a set of black alumagrips with it but don't like those either http://www.alumagrips.com/main.taf?p=2,1,2 I'm thinking either Simonich Gunner Grips http://www.simonichknives.com/gunner.htm or Mil-Tac G-10 grips http://www.mil-tac.com/grip_patterns.htm. Any other ideas?

Here is a pic of the gun that they will go on.

Wood, preferably rosewood/cocobolo. But walnut still does the trick.

        I went with Pachmeyer grips.

Try searching only in title fields.

Here's a pic of what I have on mine. Stippling is pretty aggressive and the grips have a palm swell.

Not as expensive as others but I like em, along with a whole bunch of other grips. Walnut RoCos with palm swell and ambidextrous safety cut, though I don't need that.

I like the soft rubber wrap around grip. Perhaps not the prettiest, but very functional.

I loved the Pachmayr finger groove grips.

I use the Hogue version on my Ultra-Compact.

I forgot about VZgrips. The black carbon fiber look interesting too. Anymore ideas? It looks like "something else" is winning out.

                      I voted gunners grips.

Larry Davidson makes the Mil-Tac's, as well as his own. They are very good.

Universal Outfitters makes Titanium grips that look interesting.

For wood grips, I prefer grips crafted by Esmeralda, that's my vote. But for anything else I like the Gunner Grips

                          For wood grips it's Esmeralda's http://www.esmeralda.cc/

                          For G10 go with Davidson's http://www.davidsonknives.com/grips/grips.htm
Larry made me a set of Wyrm grips in all black that are great.

I am using the Pachmayr rosewood grips, very comfortable. If you are looking for something very differant try Wicked Grips

I'm using a set of soft rubber grips with a steel insert but I can't remember what brand on my comp gun.

If you ever get a case failure that blows out into the magazine well it will split wooden grips and give you nice burn lines in your palm and fingers.
