    Bond, James Bond

Just bought one of these LNIB

Go to the second pistol down, marked Bantam 418, mine is identical. These were also sold as the Beretta Panther. This is the .25 Beretta that was around when I was coming up. Always wanted one. Just have to make the "chamois holster" now.

Go away Q, that .32 PPK is worthless!

When you're done shooting Dr. No with it you can throw the pistol at him. It will probably do more damage that way

Nice little pistol for a collection though.

Grats, but that is a horrendously ugly gun.

Beauty is in the eye of the beholder, he is just going blind over that gun and see's the beauty in the "timless style" of it.
That said it's his and he wanted it, and now has it.
I kinda like it, but not for me.

Thieves are the lowest form of life out there, except for liberal politicians, of course, but that's redundant.

Exactly. When I was a kid, those Berettas were much more prevalent than the 950. My father had one that "dissapeared" when I was knee high, so I have been looking around for another. Found one that is near perfect, and is also the less common aluminum frame. Bought it ASAP.

I had an uncle who used to pocket carry a Colt 1908 .25ACP. He showed me how to wrap it in a handkerchief so it would come out easily (I was about 8. My mom was NOT amused). I have been looking for one of those as well, but the prices on 'em are sky-rocketing. Got the hanky ready though!

The 418 also just happens to be one of Bond's original weapons. Throwing it when empty appears to be a tactical move of the 60's that I probably won't soon be emulating. Once we move from this nanny state, it will become the BUBUG to my S&W 432 BUG. In other words, a DEEP kimchee pistola.

The wife has offered to make the chamois pocket holster.

Anyone thinking of using a .25 acp for a back up gun needs some serious therapy...

Dude, learn to read. BUBUG = Back up back up gun. I.E., The third gun.

You need some remedial reading lessons

I thought Bonds original was a 950. Guess I need to reread it, I got a 950 to fill the role.

No, I read that just as you wrote it.

Someone up above said it best, When you're done shooting Dr. No with it you can throw the pistol at him. That's all it's worth for any kind of back up...

A short web search proved me wrong on the 950. I still like it better though so I think I'll keep it.

Okay, no malice intended with the reply. In my original post I wrote:

"it will become the BUBUG to my S&W 432 BUG."

Lets translate: "It will become the back up back up gun (BUBUG) to my S&W 432 back up gun (BUG)." Now calling the S&W itself a back up gun (BUG) implies it is backing up something else. Meaning the 418 backs up the 432, which is a back up gun for another handgun which was unnamed but is typically a 1911 in my case.

                      Clear as mud?

I like the 950 as well, have had two in the past. Every time I get one a friend would talk me out of it.

The best was a 950 INOX that I swapped grips on. Orginials were wood, but I swapped to a friend for his black plastic. Looked way cooler in SS and black, so cool I couldn't hang onto it. Know how that goes?

Somehow I doubt anyone will talk me out of the 418 unless they are an early Bond fan!

Yes, clear as mud. Just do us a favor and don't carry as a back up back up or whatever something that may look cool or cute but isn't big enough to get the job done. You or your loved ones will be the ones that'll pay for it.

Haha. If I could fit a 50A.E. as my BUBUG, I would. But then that means I'd have to be 8' tall, carry a shotty for BUG to my 50 BMG primary!

I guess I'd have to throw my 6.5oz empty Kelt-Tec P32 instead of shooting it after I couldn't use my Glock or 642 BUG to good effect. Why do I carry a gun at all if my family is the one to suffer and not me? I don't see the logic of NOT carrying everything one can...
