beretta 92fs take down lever issues

From my experience, only the very newest version Beretta using the blue frame insert has the ability to make the take down lever to reset to the locked position when you reassemble the pistol.
If you have a standard 92fs, 92f, M9, M9a1,etc.... you need to rotate the lever back into the locked position after reassembly.
Maybe the recoil spring/guide is not centered on the barrel and is binding as you try to mount the slide assembly?
The lever should easily rotate up when the slide is slightly retracted...

My issue sidearm required me to push the lever back up. Check the detent on the take down pin itself, maybe the firing pin assembly is catching on it if it's not all the way down. Also, are you sure the recoil spring is set in flush? IIRC, not depressing it all the way would stop the slide halfway as it caught on the takedown pin.Originally posted by Josh3239You should be more worried about how to use your guns, not what guns will be "magical".Comment

I've had both standard 92's and 90-Twos. OP is right, the 90-Twos/92A1's take down lever will take care of themselves.
The only time I had a problems getting the slide to slide back on, the slide rod had popped up a small bit.
Same for 92/96/90-Two, Cougar.. even HiPower.Comment
