    Cutting a GSG-522PK barrel - DONE

So, I bought a GSG-522PK pistol from Turner's a couple of weeks back.
It is in a single-shot config - 1 shot mag, barrel over 6", bullet button. This longer than standard Kali barrel (std is 4.5" for the PK version) sticks out the front of the gun but can be hidden by a removable muzzle brake.

I want this gun to look like its cousins around the country, with a 4.5" barrel.
I called ATI for a replacement 4.5" barrel (all 4.5" barrels are threaded) and they said no go to Kali because of thread even after I explained that it has a bullet button. They don't care.

My only other option is cut the barrel. First of all, is cutting done the barrel from the 6" to 4.5" legal? This is a pistol after all. We replace to a shorter barrels all the time after DROS on SSE guns.

If legal, anybody know of any that will do this in socal? or cali?
I called a local machine shop JDMachines in San Diego and they won't cut down any pistol barrel.

Last, say I want to preserve my 6" barrel and obtained a GSG5 rifle barrel instead. Can I cut this down to 4.5" to go into my pistol? I am not trying to create an SBR. I just want a shorter barrel for my pistol.

    Thanks all.

    Let me try here:

    1) It is legal to do so.
    2) PRK in Fresno will do pretty much anything, Valkyrie Arms in Santa Clara also might do it. I donno anyplace in so cal though.
    3) you only make a rifle from a pistol if you put a stock on it. I have no idea if a GSG rifle barrel will physically fit into the pistol reciever though...

      Thanks for the reply unusedusername.
Most GSG5 pistol and rifle components are interchangeable. I have both and will try fitting the long barrel into the pistol (and not the other way around) to be certain before buying.

Finally got around to shortening the barrel and adding accessories to my SSE GSG-522.

Before Notice how long the original barrel is as can be seen inside the flash hider.
