    Transfer taking forever?

How long does it take to get some sort of confirmation back for an inter familial handgun transfer. I sent mine in almost two months ago and still nothing. Do you even get anything back? I cant see any reason for it being denied....... i filled it out perfectly and I dros'ed a shotgun just a week ago so there shouldnt be any issues with that. Any ideas?

Why would you think you'd get something back? This is a good thing. The alternative is them knocking on your door...

It's always good idea to use certified mail with return receipt option for any transaction involving government. I always keep photo copies of what I sent and that return receipt together for my reference. The extra $10 gives you a peace of mind.

Confirmation for my first out-of-state C&R registration took almost six months to arrive. The second took only about a month. I imagine that any number of factors could affect the processing time.

They send back confirmation of registration. It's kinds like a personal copy of the DROS, but for intrafamilial transfers. Some people like to keep copies of things like that.

Heck, they are just getting the HSC Certified Instructor renewals processed. They new that was comming for 5 years. Those guys don't rush into anything their supposed to do. Now stuff they shouldn't be doing is another matter.
