    Where can I purchase 80% 1911 frames?

Anyone know where I can purchase 80% 1911 frames?

Are there other 80% firearms that can be purchased and built?
    1 Peter 3:15

But in your hearts revere Christ as Lord. Always be prepared to give an answer to everyone who asks you to give the reason for the hope that you have. But do this with gentleness and respect

    2 Corinthians 3:3
You show that you are a letter from Christ, the result of our ministry, written not with ink but with the Spirit of the living God, not on tablets of stone but on tablets of human hearts.

This is something i've been looking into the past few days. It doesn't seem like there are many options. Besides the group buy going on now(think its in another sub-forum), this is all that I could find.

I know you were asking for 80% but the options for that appear non-existant.

At this point, I'm considering buying a complete 1911 just for the frame. I'm interested in 6" slide chambered in 10mm

There is/was a guy selling castings with blueprints for $100 at some of the gunshows.
I think I read here Reno and Cow Palace, I saw him at the Turlock show.

Ares Armor? They probably won't be ready until mid-September though or somewhere around that time.

Supposedly Tactical Machine is in the works for a 1911 80% and jig. They have insinuated it's arrival sometime in the beginning of 2013.

Wow, didn't know Dlask was still around. The frame's kinda crude though.

You're in luck - the options are getting better than even half a year ago.

KTO makes 60/80% 1911 frames. Ares Armor and Tactical Machining are about to release theirs. You can still find the old Caspian45's (no relation to Caspian) cast frames. If you post on various forums and check Ebay and Gunbroker, you can still find various other unfinished 1911 frames. Seek, and you shall find

As far as what other guns you can build from 80%... Well, how much time and money have you got?

Here's what I can think of off the top of my head, the list is incomplete.

              Pistols:

1911, 2011, SIG P228/229/226, MAC-10/Cobray/MPA/whatever you call them, AR/AK/G3/Sten/other pistols based on rifle designs, Ruger Mk 1/2, Uzi, Cobray/Excalibur derringers, etc.

              Rifles:

AR-10/15, AK/RPK, PSL, FAL, various HKs and CETME, Sten, Sterling, Suomi KP-31/44, PPSh-41, PPS-43, Ruger 10/22, MG-42/M-43, VZ-58, Bren Mk. 1/2, Uzi, etc. I've seen some unfinished Remington 700 actions too.

              AOW:

M1919A4, various other semiauto AOWs based on medium and heavy machine gun designs.

              Shotguns:

I missed a Saiga 20 kit on Gunbroker (and it closed for $360, too ). I've see other Saiga shotgun kits there. Some people keep toying with the idea of making aluminum 870 receivers. Now that would be cool.
