    Chiappa Rhino .357

Hello, I was wondering if anyone out there who has a Chiappa Rhino .357 who would not mind meeting in the south bay area. I am a somewhat handicapped shooter, it is not a safety issue but hand-guns continue to be a problem for me in terms of my grip and fine motor skills (I am missing my wrist bone and only have 4 fingers, which doesn't not hamper my actual safety ability but does make it difficult to fully operate). But it has been suggested to me that this particular revolver would be easier for me to use and unfortunately none of my local ranges have one for rent.

I would greatly appreciate any suggestions or actual hands on help anyone has to offer.

Although Chiappa promises to release a CA-compliant one, at this time the revolver is not on the roster of handguns approved for sale. The only way to get one would be to PPT one already in the state or have one imported using the single action exemption. This would be temporary in order to import and DROS, then you can return it to being able to fire double action. There are a couple of 07 FFLs here that may be able to do such a conversion for you. A location would be helpful and we could then possibly refer you to one.

Chiappa Rhino do not meet the minimum length requirements needed for the SSE.

The 6" barrel Rhino, does not meet the 10.5" minimum overall length requirement.

The single action exemption for revolvers and the single shot exemption for semi autos do not follow the same criteria.

Do you mean the South Bay Area in LA or the SF Bay Area? Just want to clarify since I've heard people refer to both as "South Bay Area." I have one, but I'm in LA County.

I've tried operating mine one handed, and I find it a bit tricky one handed personally, but easier than other revolvers.

The Chiappa Rhino's double-action tigger system won't allow for a non-permanent modification to a single-action only trigger system.
So, that killed attempts to get it in as a dimensionally compliant single-action revolver.

Next was to block all the cylinders, except one and try to get it in as a dimensionally complaint single-shot pistol. But, the overall length didn't meet the requirement and that killed that method.

I have a 50DS, but also want to clarify "south bay". I'm in LA and frequent LAX firing range, and occasionally Angeles Shooting Range when I take the rifles out. If you're in LA, I'd be more than happy to let you test it out.
