    Sig 226 Stainless 9mm

How long have the Sig 226 Stainless been available? It seems like an awful bulky grip if I can only have a 10 rd mag in it. Is there a smaller Sig 9mm that is all stainless?

I got my P226ST a few years back, and I think it was fairly new at the time. I sold it, along with my P220ST, because they're just too heavy for their calibers. I found the P226ST to be just ridiculous for 9mm, and the P220ST felt heavier than my steel 5 inch 1911's. While there was nothing wrong at all with either gun, I don't regret selling them either.

The two-tone P229 in 9mm is certified for CA sale... stainless slide (bare) with an alloy frame. They made the P229ST and currently make the P229 Elite, both of which are full stainless, but neither is certified for CA sale.

The P239 is also available here in 9mm and two-tone, which is even more compact, and has a single-stack 9 round mag. It's much lighter than the P226ST, but still heavy for its size IMO.

As far as a full-stainless SIG, I don't even think the P226ST is on the list anymore, so you're pretty much SOL unless you find one in-state or are LEO.

I recently acquired a P226ST and in my big hands it feels great! For me it is a great range gun. The extra weight really tames recoil, makes follow up shots easy, and makes it a joy to shoot.

I had the target all the way to the rear of the range and it was easy to keep all of the shots in a 4in group using both hands and in a weaver stance.

It's a beautiful piece of CNC art as well. It would be a bad choice for concealed carry or even duty because of the weight. I was thinking of keeping an eye out for a P220ST since I enjoy the P226ST so much.
Oh well...... I guess to each his own............
