Which bull barell commander/officer sized 1911 to get?

Looking for a bull barreled commander/officer sized 1911. Like the springfield champion operator but cant find one. Any thoughts or suggestions.
In the $900-1300 range and dont mind SSE.

    Thanks.

To the best of my knowledge, there are no bull barreled commander sized guns. Commander is 4.25" 4" and smaller are usually officer or CCO sized guns. Semantics, I know, but just clarifying. RIA has their officer sized with a bull barrel, and then there's Kimber. Don't know how you feel about them.

Kimber maybe. RIA probably not. I didn't realize under 4.25 was an officers. So thanks for the input. I was also considering STI.

The Model 3 Custom1911 chambered in .50GI, custom made in Huntsville, Arkansas.

I appreciate all the input. I've been considering the Predator. But given the price, Id probably just put it in the safe rather than use it.

GunCrafters.........NICE. Ive handled a few at M B Retting. I think its actually worth the price given the exclusivity and craftsmanship. i had not seen the no. 3.

Guncrafter Model 3 is not in the roster. If you want one, you'll need to go through SSE, family or get one from LEO's.

Every Guncrafter is built to the same standard. The quality and craftmanship is all there. The co-inventor and the owner of Guncrafter, Alex, gets his hands on every Guncrafter gun going out. For those of you don't know, Alex was the head of R&D at Wilson Combat and the man behind the railed 1911's. He has several patents on 1911's. He also has 7 world championship titles. With all the experience and titles, this guy, if you ever talk to him over the phone or via e-mail communication, he's one of the most humble guy you'll ever met.

The Offecers size usually has a smaller grip & -1 round as well.

The important thing about that is that while standard 1911 mags will work, they will protrude. If you don't install the proper basepads on those mags, slamming the magazine during a reload has a risk of damaging the ejector through overinsertion. You can slam the compact magazines all day without a problem though, or standard mags with basepads that act as stops.

Officer sized pistols have shorter grip frames than Government/Commanders and use special magazines and stocks.

The 4" barrel 1911's (such as Kimber's) are usually Commander equivalents, i.e. close to a true Colt Commander's 4.25" barrel and featuring a full length grip.

A Colt Officer has a 3.5" barrel with the shorter Officer grip.

The Colt Defender has a 3" barrel with Officer grip.

The CCO has the 4.25 or 4" Commander length barrel with an Officer grip.
