    Best CCW Holster?

I'm going to Vegas for the shot show and want to carry. I either want to carry my stub-nose, glock, BHP, or sig 225. Not sure yet what to start with since ive never carried in the past. I was looking at IWB holsters, is that my best bet? Any ideas, normally im in Jeans , shirt and a dickies jacket.

any ideas would be helpful, thanks guys!

You're a little late, as SHOT is a week away and it'll be really tough to get a quality holster in that amount of time. I don't think even Comp-Tac would have something ready for you in time.

Maybe not cheap, but a place to start:

            Comp-tac.

They can get you a kydex holster to you in a very timely fashion. Comptac also works great for cc, the CTAC, MTAC, or Infidel would work nice for IWB carry. I personally use the Infidel to carry a P2000.

Give gunnersalley a try too for some inexpensive don hume gear.

If you want to rock out with superstar leather, LA Sports, or Lightning Arms can get you some Milt Sparks leather at a premium price, but no months on end wait.

            Good luck!

You'll need to decide on IWB or OWB. Kydex or leather? FBI or straight cant?

From there the choices are practically limitless.

With the time you have left you might pick up a cheap kydex Fobus or Uncle Mike's and just go with that. Unless you luck into a holster in a shop you'll probably not get a leather holster in time.

The Summer Special by Milt Sparks is a highly touted IWB hoslter - you might check ebay.

Bottom line is that holster fit is so personal (like asking what the best fitting pair of jeans are) that you really should try a few different designs in a shop. The interweb ain't going to be much help.

Sorry to say, but your odds of finding a great holster the first time is 0. With a week to get something into stock, you're well into negative numbers. Ask anybody who's carried for even a little while, and they'll have a multiple holster saga before finding something that works for them. What with different guns, different clothes, different bodies, there's not one size fits all solution, just good bets and worse bets.

For you on short notice, I'd either get a smart carry, or the best quality pocket holster you can find for the snubby. Call Sparks, Rosen, Galco, etc etc and see if they have somethign in stock to ship right away. .

You say "I have never carried in the past"? I hope that you have a NV or UT CCW. NV is OK with CCW as long as you have the permit, Clark Co. is the worst place in the state though. Up until recently, you needed to register your CCW guns and get a blue card.

The easiest thing to find at this time would be a slide holster for the Glock, it's pretty much one size fits most Glocks. Did not notice where you from but if you are in the SF East Bay, you are welcome to borrow one of mine for the Glock. I switched from Fobus to Galco, it's anOWB paddle slide.

I have a Utah CCW. I'm from LA area. thanks for the offer. I'm thinking of going with my stubnose in an IWB holster for now to get used to carrying.

                      IMHO:
For starters, if you have never carried then you should pick one gun and stick to it. Carrying different types of guns is just going to set you up for trouble if you need to use it.

As far as holsters, that is going to depend on what clothes you are going to wear. I use an IWB most of the time, but it doesn't work with some clothes - like a dress shirt and slacks with no jacket.

Go to the place where the local cops buy their duty gear. For your Sig 220 and your Glock they should have holsters in stock.

The Bianchi Carrylok model 82 in size 11a will fit your Sig. It's a belt holster (not an IWB) but it will carry your pistol concealed under a jacket.

Just so you know, there is no carrying allowed in SHOT. I don't think they have the facility to check weapons into a secure lockup either.

How recently? I've had mine for 8 years and I never had to register anything and get a card. Kern county the worst place in the state??? I guess if you don't want a ccw you'd be right.

Comptacs are great. I had shirt tucker that I used all the time. I've been using a sidearmor for the last few years and it works well too. Now its mostly pocket carry with a smith 442. Its just too easy.
