Production year for a Sig?

Im looking at picking up a used sig form a buddy. Other then going threw Sig Customer Service and paying $50 and waiting 2 to 3 weeks. Dose anyone know of another resource to do so.

You can also call Sig and they will tell you the year and the month. I did that when I bought my P220 from a guy that didn't know. (he was the second owner)

If you have a newer one, it says the month and year on the box (at least mine did)
