Plan on deer hunting on our family land in Ohio with a S&W 44 Magnum this year. I've got it narrowed down to two ammunition choices but can't figure on which to get. The gun is a Model 29 with 8 3/8" barrel.
They are both Cor-Bon Hunter ammo. One is 280 grain bonded core soft point (1400fps/1219ft lbs) and the other is 260 grain bonded core hollow point (1450fps/1215ft lbs). Essentially the same performance but one flat soft point and one hollow. Reviews on both are incredible. Both are priced the same too.
Also, just to be sure...a 1985 vintage Model 29-3 is ok to handle this high velocity ammo right?
