You just have to keep calling all the shops. If and when a shop gets them, they usually move within the next couple of days. Try Bain and Davis.

I have a SA Loaded in both 9 and 45. Sweet guns. Find a NM Serial # one if you can. The 9mm is made in Brazil but the 45 is a NM and made here in USA. Guess which one has less problems?

Both frames are from Brazil, and no production Springfield 1911 is made entirely in the US. Having the "USA" stamp on it simply means that greater than 50% of the finishing work was done here. The parts still come from Brazil. However, as you said, they're sweet guns. They do seem a bit more difficult to find lately, however.

All I'm saying is that from my experience with the two, the "USA" one has a better fit & finish, slide to frame fit is better, and has a nicer trigger pull. It's true that all the parts do come from Brazil, but the ones finished here are most likely better.

The 9mm gave me problems at first but that did clear up after break-in. It's a great shooter now, but I'm not completely happy with the trigger. I'm going to send it to SACS when I can for some custom work and make it an even nicer shooter.

What is typically a "good" price (without tax and DROS) for the SA loaded 1911?

Retting may still have one. They have a TRP too and a used Kimber. Though they may all be sold now, that was a week ago. I bought a used loaded with night sights for 699.
