    Midnight range trip

Hit up Targetmasters West last night around 10:15PM, rented a Ruger Single 6 22lr since it's too much fun to shoot and the range has a $2 revolver rental special going on.

By that time the range was almost empty, so it was nice having a bay almost to myself except for a couple other shooters.

What I noticed this time shooting alone was the difference trigger control makes, it's like night and day when you have proper trigger fundamentals and when you don't. I could tell i was shooting better when I was focusing on the trigger pull.

One thing that helped, and makes me need a 22lr, was switching between 45 acp and 22lr. I noticed that as you switch calibers you're less fatigued and you can practice fundamentals a lot better.

Was also playing around with some HDR settings, here's how the pics came out. Target was at 8 yards, groups are 8 shots each.

You didn't need a back up gun as you left that place??? I've heard too many horror stories to ever want to go near that place....day or night!

Interesting story, group next to me had a girl who was clearly drunk. Reeked of booze and threw up in the garbage bin. Luckily they kicked that group out.

Just tried that on my last range trip -- it makes you shoot 22LR seriously. If you have a heavy 22LR like a Ruger Hunter w/6 7/8" barrel and you shoot with concentration, you'll fatigue just the same.

            Nice shootin'.

They live for the opportunity to be called to duty to protect the innocent. The sheepdog has fangs and the propensity for violence but hopes that he will not have to resort to it. However, he lives for that day when he will be able to use his warrior skills and mindset to keep the wolf from harming the sheep."
