    Sig Custom Shop Sucks!!

I sent my 229 in for the AEP & SRT and now it fails to fire often with American factory ammo! Sigs manager Scott Therrien won't even return my calls or care to fix the most realiable gun I've ever owned!

Has anyone else had problems with their horrible gunsmithing and customer service??

Can anyone recommend a great gunsmith?

Don't give up on Sig. They are the "experts" on their own product. I suspect they will make things right, you just need to get their attention. Keep trying!

Oh and telling them "they suck", might not be the best approach. Just a thought...

    Good luck!

I've never had work done by this guy, but he seems pretty good.

I can recommend two great shops. One is even here in CA.

          1) Apex Sports - if Scott Folk is still around he's the person to talk to
          2) Grayguns - Give Bruce a call they do the best SIG work

Thanks, I was just reading his website.

Has anyone sent their gun to http://www.tjscustomgunworks.com/ ???

I know he charges $130 for 1 way shipping!

Your fix might be as simple as a new hammer spring. You can get the factory weight here and maybe go with a couple of lighter springs if you want to dial it in. Hammer springs are usually pretty simple to install. http://www.gunsprings.com/Semi-Auto%...ID4/dID253#295

                  Is this cheap crappy ammo?

I've never had an issue, EVER with SIG's custom shop or CS. Just give them a call. They have plenty of people on the phones, it just gets hectic at times. They'll take a look.

Gray guns wasnt anything noticable that Sig's shop couldnt'/didnt do for me. APEX....hmmm didnt think they did much on SIGs, either way SIG will take a look.

12 weeks is nothing for custom gunsmithing. My last gunsmithing project took 7 months (different smith though)...

Why are you blaming Sig when (from what you've described) this sounds like an AMMO related problem?
We in Bangor, Maine now baby.

IT'S DEFINITLY NOT THE AMMO! I'VE TRIED FEDERAL, WINCHESTER, PMC...HAPPENS WITH EVERY AMMO! It's also NOT me! I've had several experienced shooter shoot the gun and it Failed to fire with each one. I person made it 30 rds before a failure, most it happened on 1st clip!

Nothing wrong with the ammo. A gun at Sig's price should shoot anything you feed it. Sig's shop took a reliable gun and turned it into junk. Yes, an unreliable firearm is junk. They broke it, they should fix it. I'd be raising hell and calling every hour and flooding his inbox with emails and copying everyone at sig.

It's NOT the ammo! Using Federal and Winchester and different shooters! All the same result, Failures to fire from light strikes! Sig offered to undo the AEP & SRT, but that is it! Horrible customer service!

Maybe that's the problem, try using magazines instead of clips.

In all seriousness, get Sig to fix the issue. You said you were dealing with one of the managers directly? Well maybe he's on a leave of absence, attempt to talk to someone else. Get a call into their CS department and talk to one of those guys.
