    Sigma

My buddy was thinning out some of his collection, and not really being a plastic kind of guy, offered me a first generation Sigma 9mm cheap. He bought it used last year and had only run about 100 rounds through it. It looks brand new, there's not a blemish anywhere on it.

Having heard all the bad talk about the first generation Sigmas, i was a little leery but decided i'd check it out for myself.

I ran 260 rounds through it (200 rounds of PMC 124gr FMJ and 60 rounds of Winchester 115 gr Silvertips) without a single problem. After the first couple magazines full i finally got used to the long slightly heavy trigger pull, and at 21 ft simi rapid fire, groups were all in the black. Not great groups i know, but for a half blind old man, it'll do.

It's been awhile since i've done any plinking, and this gun reminded why i like 9mm hardball. Besides, for $150 and loaded up with Silvertips, it'll make a great garage stash gun.

Great deal! My only plastic handgun is a Sigma. I've never had a problem with it but, I don't shoot it much anymore. It's probably got about 5K through it. I'm not planning on selling it since I've got several regular mags for it.

It used to be the issue weapon for the PD near my house. I would often shoot my friends till I finally bought mine. I sold it last year as I have so many Glocks that just feel better in my hand. I cant say it ever gave me any trouble. It shot where it was aimed.

Nothing wrong with them reallyl, just think of them as a revolver

They were meant to help PD's transition from revolvers to autos hence the long double action only trigger pull.

$150 is a steal and apparently better than your other gun

I guess I have a 17+1 shot revolver! Sorry, I just had to rub it in.

How big would the cylinder be on something like that?

Same size as your Sigma. My Sigma just has normal 17 round mags.

If you don't buy it will you introduce me to this friend and I'll bring a case of cold ones. I'm serious, I'm looking for a cheap 9mm pistol to pack in the back yard just in case the neighbor's pitbull breaks in to my back yard. It's just fair to protect myself and I'm sure the cops will take it as evidence until I'm cleared of any wrong doing. I've been packing my semi-custom Colt 1991 A1 commander and I'd be really p'off if the cops take it and gives it back to me all scratched up. Let me know.

Darn, man! If I was your friend I'd be buying you one so you don't shoot me.

Even though i wasn't in the market for another 9mm (i have two Glock 9mm's and i sold a couple of other 9mm's last year) I couldn't pass it up.

I've owned an SW9G (Sigma with a green frame) for quite some time. I have 2 normal mags, 17 rd. It's not as accurate as some of my other 9's, but it is comfortable to carry and reliable. Your buddy's making you a good deal....For $150 I'd buy it just to keep as a spare.
