wondering if any one has crimson trace grips on their beretta and if so, do you like them?

... and as a follow-on to this question:

Do you have the front- or side-activation switch?

I have a 1st Gen Crimson trace laser on my HD gun. It has the side activation. All in all it works OK but it does not always activate correctly depending on hand pressure.

The concept is good, just the side mounted pressure switched I would advise to avoid. Any newly manufactured unit will have the newer pressure switch on the front.

Now see, I actually like the side mounted switch a little better. It's easier to keep off when you want to without impacting my overall grip as much.

I suspect it is very much a personal thing and may also have to do with finger and hand size. Try to play with both in a gun store before you buy.

I have 3 of them on the 92, p220 and p226. They are the newer wrap around type with buttons on both sides and finger grooves. I like it a little better than the front button one on my 1911.

The buttons are easy to activate and don't change my grip. Grip panels are thinner than the Hogue wrap around grips which reduces the grip size. The finger grooves are shallow so it doesn't interfere with your finger placement.

The laser holds zero really well. I took them off a few times and put them back without changing more than 5% if any zero at 25 yards. The red laser is very visible out to 15 yards in broad day light. Laser placement is very close to bore axis so it zeros well within 25 yards.

1 minor inconvenience is for left hand shooters to manipulate the 92/96 safety. It'd still work but the laser housing is in the way for a 'clean' engagement.
