Just bought a 21SF...

Hey guys,

So my friends and I went to the gun store yesterday and i was just going to buy ammo. The guys there know me well, so when I walked in, they pulled out a "used" Glock 21 SF. Apparently, the previous owner only shot +/- 100 rounds through it, decided he didn't like it, and sold it back to them. I ended up buying it for $460 plus tax and DROS, and the gun looks BRAND NEW. I've wanted a 21 for some time now, and would have settled on a standard 21 since I have big enough hands for them, but found this thing and just felt like I couldn't pass it up. Did I get a good deal on this thing?

Next up, taking it to Frank@ Irvington along with the 17 for some work... and to talk about a 2011.

Very good price, local range with very competitive prices has one NIB for $569. I really do like the grip on the 21SF compared to the 21.

Sounds like you are in the Bay Area. Which store had it for that price? I understand it was a one time deal, but if they have "used" guns at prices like that all the time, I'm going to start shopping there too.

How's the recoil on that compared to the 1911? My friends 30, the subcompact version, is...uh..."brisk." I've heard the 21 is lighter than the 1911, but haven't shot it yet.

The recoil in the 21SF seems softer to me than that of the 1911. I find a 1911 unpleasant to shoot if I don't use a high-thumbs grip. The 21SF is not objectionable at all, but I can't say that I've ever NOT used a high-thumbs grip on mine.

The 21SF is, hands down, my favorite glock, mostly because it shoots more accurately for me than do any of the 9's. The grip reduction is not much, but it is enough. The regular 21 was just barely too big for me.

paid 505 for mine, no tax. Thinking about replacing the barrel with one from Storm Lake.

460?!?!? WOW! Got mine for 659 brand new with Glock night sights. I've since replaced the slide stop with an extended one, a whole trigger assembly from Glockmeister (with the 3.5 lb disconnector), and a tungsten recoil guide rod with 20 lbs spring. The trigger pull on mine is just under 4 lbs now and it is a sweet shooter. Not quite a 1911, in my opinion, but about as accurate. I have 1300 rounds through mine which includes a lot of my reloads. No problems whatsoever. So go out and shoot the heck outta yours, you'll love it. I know I do mine

Well, I just did the paperwork yesterday. I got the gun from Sportsman's Supply. They often have great deals there, on both new and used. I've been meaning to go and start the work on a 2011 with Frank, but every time I walk in there for ammo or something small before the range, I end up walking out with a new gun. After this, I promise that I'll get the 2011... I just couldn't pass up a 21SF for that price. Irvington Arms needs to get a larger inventory so I can have the same problem with them!!!!!!!!
