CA Rules regarding beltfed? (AR Pistol, see vid)

Got the AR-pistol bug recently and I ran across this video on Youtube of a beltfed .22 upper. Not something I'm considering seriously but it sure looks like fun!

Anyway, I tried some quick Google-fu and some vague answers popped up saying that belt-fed is fine as long as the belts are only 10 round groups. Any truth to that?

And here's a vid of it in unrestricted FA SBR goodness just to drool over. We can always dream, eh?

(at work, can't see the videos, so here is the standard answer)

Needs to comply with CA's assault weapons laws.

      To be CA legal...
The semi-auto AR pistol needs a fixed magazine with a capacity of 10 rounds or less.

Hm yeah, the fixed magazine may be the kicker. Ah well, just curious.

Should be legal with 10 round or less belts but I am recalling that there might be some language banning cloth belts in California? Oh yeah, because it is a pistol, I think it would be a no go because you could not have a bullet button on a belt fed AR pistol. You can have a belt fed 1919 or an M2 here as long as it is a semi, no BB needed because they are not a shoulder fired weapon, no a pistol.

As usual, if it is fun or cool, it is banned in Ca.
