Looks like a model 66. Open the cylinder and look at the inside of the crane. The model number should be marked there.

+1, 66 would be my guess as well.

It appears to be an early M66 no dash. The plain front and stainless rear sights were only put on the first production models. They were replaced with Red Ramp front and blackened stainless / blued steel after it was found the plain sights were difficult to pick up.

If yours is indeed an early M66 the plain sights make it a bit more rare & desirable to a collector.

Proper stocks for it would be football Targets.

          This one's mine.

Fishslayer nailed it. You've got a great gun - go get some target grips for that gun (although Magnas look good on them, too!).

I'm a little curious about the front sight. It appears to be pinned?

I've got to drag a Sistema out of the safe tomorrow for pics, so I'll try to snag my no-dash 66 and check - but I think it's also got a pinned front sight.

With proper stocks & solid mechanical condition probly between $400ish-$500ish. But I've seen a badly refinished & sloppy loose M19 go for $500 so ya never know about Kalifornistan.

From what i have seen a decent model 66 is $500 any day of the week , Priced at $450 it would sell in minutes . A real nice one with the box and all will push $600 .
I have a sweet 66-1 that was a keeper when i cleaned out my over abundance of 357s

I agree. While I would say I got a pretty good deal, it's a keeper. I swear if they ever do away with the roster we are all gonna be out a LOT of "perceived value" on our old S&Ws.

I think I could live with that.
