First, the simple stuff. See about cleaning the extractor claw and the area thereabouts. If your weapon has the stainless finish , you'll want to clean that area until silver is visible to some extent. The part shouldn't look black when you're done.
Assuming that does nothing, next step is to check the locking block for cracks, chips, or strange wear marks. When the locking block bites the dust the weapon won't cycle at all, and sometimes there's warning of impending failure in the form of FTE's and feed problems...and sometimes it just quits. Either way, if there's anything which looks amiss about the locking block its a good idea to get a new one.
Clean extractor, new locking block, yet still getting FTE's?
Time for a new magazine & recoil spring. If those steps and the ones mentioned already don't work, its time to send it down to Miami with a list of the stuff you've done.Paying $80 for shipping sucks, but having to cough up dough out of pocket for repair and labor on top of that bites even harder. In this respect Taurus firearms have a nice advantage. The more prohibitions you have, the less virtuous people will be.
The more subsidies you have, the less self reliant people will be.
