    What am I doing wrong?

I'm guessing I'm doing something basic wrong here...

I'm shooting a new H&K P30 9mm, and have about 300 rounds through it now. About 75% of the time after the last round is shot the slide doesn't lock back. The last 250 rounds I haven't had any ftf/fte; I tried shooting single hand and it locked back.

I've never had this problem with my 92FS or XD40, which is why I'm confused. Rounds are generally on target, a bit to the right (I shoot lefty), but nothing significant. I'm not a complete newbie, but am in no way an expert.

I'm assuming it's me and not the pistol. Suggestions? Thanks!

Well it could be you are riding the slide stop. I have the HK USP and while I have not had that problem, the slide stop on these guns is larger than most and it can be engaged pretty easily. That being said I have a Sig that does the same thing.

Yep, you are riding the slide stop.

Try an experiment. load a single round in the magazine and shoot it strong hand. You will see it locks back every time.

You are using a 1911 style thumbs forward grip. Just move your trigger thumb on tip of your support hand. This will keep it clear of the slide stop. I had the same problem with Sigs and Glocks.

Aha! I do in fact use a thumbs fwd grip, and I 'think' I am probably riding the slide stop. I just picked up my P30, and my thumb naturally falls on the slide stop, so you guys are probably right.

Thanks for the help - much appreciated!

if the above posters advice doesnt work u should make sure your pants arent too tight and your shoe laces are tied and probably switch from boxers to briefs.
