PLEASE HELP! INFO NEEDED: Is it possible to Single Action exempt a DA ruger?

Is it possible to perform the "single action exemption" on a DA ruger? Specifically the police service six? I know there is a sticky for how to do it on the S&W, and it seems it should be equally as easy for most DA revolvers. Anyone here done it? Or know of where I could find info on how it is done? Thanks

the revolver meets all other requirements, 6 shot, barrel 4 inches...

bumping this cuz I could really use some assistance here.

I also need to know if the single action exemption must occur before it is shipped to my FFL? or can the single action exemption (removing of DA sear) take place at my FFL?

It's really single SHOT exemption and I believe its possible but you have to find an ffl with the proper license and the parts necessary to do a single shot exemption with that pistol.

There are two different exemptions. one is a single shot, the other is a single action exemption. For example, in the handgun section there is a sticky on how to remove the "double action sear" from a S&W revolver. Thus making it a single action (exempt from roster w/ 5+ shots, and 3" or more barrel)

So my question (based on the assumption that you can remove the DA sear from all DA revolvers) is has anyone here done this for the Ruger revolver series. And also, does the FFL that is shipping the handgun need to do it, or can my FFL that receives the revolver do it?

          Schematic here.

I've not done a single action only on a Ruger revolver as yet, although I do own some, but removing the hammer dog along with it's retainer pin, spring and plunger would / should make the gun incapable of firing DA.

The seller or the shipping FFL making it single action only before shipping to your FFL seems to be the best practice.

The Ruger DA revolvers are easy as heck to convert to SA only. The hammer can be removed without removing the trigger assembly, the pin retaining the DA sear can be pressed out by hand. It's a 5 minute job.
