XD owners, is this normal or oxidation?

I only field stripped once after I brought it home, which was about a month ago. I field stripped again to show a buddy and I do not rememmeber these parts being a dull purpleish brown.

It looks like you cleaned it with Gun Scrubber or brake cleaner. Mine doesn't look brown/purple. Does it change back to normal if you lube it?

I cleaned and lubed with Break Free CLP, it does not change or come off with cleaner or lube.

I bought this brand new a month ago, only has 10 rounds through the barrel.

Now I do recall wiping the whole gun with Outers Nitro Solvent Gun Cleaner before I lubed it real good.

Thats funny, you're xdm on the right has the slot on the left completely hollowed out. My xdm is hollowed out too but it's made into two compartments rather than one large one. Must be a simple design change for whatever reason

Mine also has straight lines for cocking cerations, instead of the V-shaped ones. I'm guessing it's one of the older designs. Got it in a trade here on CalGuns about a year ago, before SSE was commonplace.

My 22/45 has that one some parts like the rear sights and the magazine release which have all been well oiled. Always makes me paranoid.

you bought an xd not a ford. you cant go wrong with an xd. mine have over 3k down the barrel and still shooting perfect.
