    W. German P228 Cerakote?

I'm interested in a project gun, and found a police trade in P228. Lots of holster wear, to the point that it looks like the slide was poorlybead blasted, but the internals look great as does the barrel and the frame. This West German P228 Has all matching serials which leads me to the question, should I Cerakote it, enjoy shooting it or keep it in it's current state and retain any "value" it might have.

    Thanks

Cerakote it, change out the major springs, and ENJOY YOUR 228!!! You will fall in love with the 228. Great engineering, great SHTF, carry, HD pistol.

Reblue it. Sig does it for 80/90 dollars. I personally think w.German sigs look best in the natural black/blue look, and holster wear can look cool.

        Thanks you two.

I'll be excited when the 10 days are up and when it gets done 'kote'ing. I'm going to go with patriot brown with the frame. The slide and controls will be graphite black. Will post pics when done. Cheers.

I got my slide done with Ceraplate II by CCR and I can't stop looking at it. This picture doesn't really do it justice though. It also feels even smoother too.

I also sent it in to Sig for the Father's Day special in the thread below. It's a great deal because they replace the sights, springs, clean it, etc. for the price of new sights alone.

I'm really happy I did both things since it feels like a new gun.
