I see a gen 4 g29 in my near future. Too bad I can't get the gssf price on SSE.

The 30's are already available? COOL!
I was just checking up on it the other day and couldn't find any info on them having been released yet. I'm definitely going to go pick one up from one of the Glock retailers around me in the next week or two!

Just as i was getting pleased with my Glock collection"Then there are sheepdogs. The sheepdogs are the bastions of safety. The sheepdog lives solely to protect the flock and confront the wolf. They live for the opportunity to be called to duty to protect the innocent. The sheepdog has fangs and the propensity for violence but hopes that he will not have to resort to it. However, he lives for that day when he will be able to use his warrior skills and mindset to keep the wolf from harming the sheep."Comment

My lgs says those guns are illegal to own in kommifornia. They say sse is also illegal and doj is cracking down on the shops doing sse. I see a g4g20 in my future."Screw U guys, I'm going home"...:the great Eric Cartman

I see people posting this all the time, and I always wonder if they've ever actually held or shot a GEN 4. Have you shot the GEN 4 G21? I have a G21SF and GEN 4 G21, and tye GEN 4 is by far the best feeling/shooting 45 I have. I'm just curious what exactly you don't like about GEN 4's?Comment

What are the major differences? I dont have either yet, but im deciding if I should pay the extra for SSE on a gen 4.I see people posting this all the time, and I always wonder if they've ever actually held or shot a GEN 4. The major difference for me is the grip size/texture & mag release. The texture is just right for me, not too rough like the original RTF & not slippery like the GEN 3. The grip also feels slightly smaller than the 20/21SF frame, and just all around feels better in my hands. The larger (not extended) mag release is also a huge plus for me, making it much easier to drop mags. My GEN 4 G21 also shoots softer than my G30SF, which shoots softer than my G21SF.Comment

Nice! meathead knows Ive been drooling over the thought of a G20 Gen 4.
Now, it looks like I will have to be rather proactive to go about getting one in CA.
I would imagine I just need to call an SSE FFL in San Diego and have them order it for me? Or maybe find an out of state distributor and have them send the gun directly to the SSE?
EDIT:
If you have the .40SW conversion barrel, are the .40SW mags interchangeable with the 10MM mags, vice versa?
Thanks in advanceLast edited by BlackReef; 06-13-2012, 10:45 AM.Comment

The .40S&W/9x19mm/.357SIG/.45GAP/.380ACP magazines are not compatible with the 10mm/.45ACP magwell and vice-versa.
Stock 10mm Glock magazines seem to load .40S&W, .357SIG & 9x25mm reliably for range use (YMMV).sigpic

Ok good to know.
So I would imagine it's going to be some time until we see Gen 4 Glock 20 magazines hit the market?
I've been reading up on this, and it looks like as long as your Gen 4 Glock isn't modified (reversed mag catch) then there shouldn't be any issues shooting Gen 3 mags with the Gen4?
One last question - is using a Glock 22/35 Magazine the only magazine solution for a Glock 20 w/ a .40 conversion barrel?
thanks again. apologies for all the questions.Comment

G22/35 mags will not work in a G20 frame. The G20 mags feed .40S&W ammo just fine, so it's not a big deal. All Glock 20 mags, regardless of generation, will function in the GEN 4's without the reversed mag release. If you want to reverse the mag release, you'll need the GEN 4 mags, but I can't imagine them being incredibly difficult to find. If you end up buying one, it will come with 3 GEN 4 cut magazines anyway.Comment

Now I just need to convince Ed's Public Safety to ship out a Gen. 4 Glock 20 to an FFL dealer out here who will do SSE!Comment
