Putting a Glock 22 upper on a Glock 17 frame (both 3rd gen)??

To my understanding everything on the frame is the same besides the ejector, Does anybody have any experience with it? and do I need to replace/buy a .40 ejector if I throw the 22 upper on the 17 frame (both glocks are 3rd generation)?

    Thanks

    You got it !

imho: Only a couple pins, so I'd swap the Ejector Housing out to the correct .40S&W Glock 22 Model.
    So,:
    - Complete G22 Slide
    - G22 Ejector Housing
    - G22 Magazines

    * You could have separate .40 Trigger Assembly to pop in when you swap calibers. Just a little faster change over.

^^ Thanks for the info I appreciate it.. would it be ok to shoot with the G17 ejector? or would I be taking a chance? just asking because I dont have the owners manual to correctly dissemble the ejector and I just bought a G22 upper lol

Sure, give it a try. The difference between the two is straight vs a very slight bend. On the lonewolf conversion barrels, to shoot 9 in the .40 (22)
they actually have the 9mm barrels bore a bit offset to the left.

If I'm not mistaken the G22 frame is reinforced with a steal pin just under the lug hook. I have read that a G17 frame will work with a G22 upper but there could be some frame damaged. Not sure if anyone has actually tested this, I'm just going off what I read.

Ok so I was half right. Early g17 gen 3's did not have a 3rd support pin for the lug block. Later glock added the pin to the 9mm models to streamline mfg. If your gen 3 has this pin then you should be fine.

thanks for the info.. how do I tell if mine has the 3 support pins? are you talking about the 2 pins above the trigger and the 1 pin in the back? I'm still kinda a newbie when it comes to glocks

The move from 2 pin to 3 pin was done because of the .40S&W cartridge, the .357SIG came after the change from 2 pin to 3 pin was done.

^^ thanks guys, so being that it has 3 pins does that mean the ejector on the G17 should support the 40 S&W and I don't need to replace it?
