    Springfield XD-45 Tactical or S&W M&P 45?

Now I'm considering one of these guys because it's more affordable than SSE'ing a Sig Scorpion 1911 or FNX. Which of these is the better choice?

    VS.

Why? Both have a good design....if you really aren't sure on a purhase rent/hold one to see.

Both fine pistols. All a matter of personal preference.

Go shoot them (rental), and see which one "speaks" to YOU.

I tried both, and now own an XD-45 Tactical and Service.
Also, just my own personal interpretation: the XD to me holds and points like what I imagine a polymer frame 1911 would. I also like the grip safety.

edit: FYI, I found out while field stripping them, that one can interchange slides on the XD series. If you want an XD Compact, you can source a 3" barrel/slide and not have to DROS another handgun, assuming that option appeals to you.

I am actually getting the XD45 with the 5 in. barrel in a few weeks. I own the XD40 and its just a comfortable well working gun I really like it.

I have the exact XD you have pictured above.

I bought it over the M&P and Glock due to the way it fit my hand. I think the grip is just a bit thinner on the XD which worked better for me. I did like both guns, you can't go very wrong either way.

The reason I don't like XD's are the super high bore line. There is a lot of muzzle rise.

M&P all the way for me.

I prefer the XD, but id never mind a M&P. I shot a XD sub and have held the other calibers and tactical. It just fits so well and has the best trigger in a poly gun that I've ever shot. The PPQ may change that.

Tried an XD and it was nice...M&P felt better for me.

I've got the XD Tactical in .45 ACP. I've got the upgraded trigger on mine and couldn't be happier! I absolutely love mine.

The best one to pick is the one you shoot the best.

For me, I FREAKIN' LOVE my XD45 Tactical. I put the Powder River trigger and kit in the gun, and it is insane how great the trigger pull now is.
