    SR9 magazines?

Will 10 round SR40 magazines fit into an SR9?

And if so, how many rounds will they fit?

    Anyone try it?

explain to me why you would want to put sr40 mags in a sr9? are you trying to get more 9mm ammo into the mag? also how are you sure that this wont cause the gun to malfunction somehow... jam, ftf, fte... etc etc...

10 round sr40 mags are legal to import, 13 round sr9 magazines are not.

I don't know if they are even close to the same dimensions, that is why I am asking the calguns wizards.

I just tried it for you. The SR40 mag fits into the SR9(same dimensions), but it won't hold 9mm ammo. The case rim is too small for the rounds to be held in by the feed lips because it is designed for 40s&w. They just pop out of the top of the mag.

I wonder if the magazine would still function in the SR40 if the feed lips were bent in a little bit.

AFAIK if it still functions in the original gun it should be legal.

The SR9 is the only gun I own right now which would significantly benefit from having a standard magazine.

Even if it worked I'm sure you'd be breaking a law in CA at least since you'd have a magazine holding more the the coveted 10 rounds we are limited to in CA.

You could buy 17 rd SR9 rebuild kits and keep them disassembled until you are out of state or if SHTF scenario happened.

I think once you change the magazine from its' original state you loose ground on that loophole.
