M&P45 is finally home

Bailed her out of jail today. First thing was first, I removed the mag and sear disconnect. What stupid parts. Pushed the pin out and dumped the contents into a tiny bag to keep in case I ever sell it.

I did some measuring with my calipers and was actually shocked at its size compared to my G17. No wonder I love the feel, its almost exactly the same size. It fits my hand great! Now I just need my stupid Apex Sear to come in the mail.

I always liked the look of the M&P's. Very neat pistols. I tried one, wouldn't mind owning one, just not right now. Good choice OP.

Is space between the slide and the frame wide toward the front and narrows toward the rear?
Is it an artifact or angle at which the picture was taken?
Anyone else notice this?

Noticed that too after much inspection. The frame is straight whats happening is the play between the rails and slide causes the slide to tilt muzzle up. The recoil spring and lug are tilting the slide. It looks like its sagging but its not

Thats normal for a M&P. Like the curved end of the frame on a Glock.

Also in your pic, towards the muzzle, the way the frame is casting a shadow, it makes it look like a wider gap as well. I've noticed no real uneven cant to it or any play, it's been a beast. I love mine.

I'd say contact S&W to be honest. I know theres a gap between slide and frame that opens up towards muzzle but thats because of the guide rod and the way it sits. But as far as play and the frame sagging/curving, nothing like that on mine. Give their customer service a call, 1(800)331-0852, and let them know about the issues. Lifetime warranty and their customer service has always been great for me. Best of luck.
