    Revolver Question...

GO CHARGERS!!!! Sorry....had to get it out.......

    Now for the question....

I do not have a revolver in my arsenal yet and was looking into getting one. Since I have a .40 S&W pistol......I was thinking a revolver in .40 would make sense.

Do any of the major manufacturers make a .40 S&W revolver?

If so, what are the pros and cons to a revolver in this caliber?

Thanks in advance for the help.....

Pro:Sharing ammo, can chamber 10mm too.
Con: Need moon clips, hard to load moon clips.

No need to reinvent the wheel. The best revolvers are built in calibers they were intended to shoot. My opinion

PS: S&W 610 might be what you're looking for. 799.99 at ImpactGuns, 700 at gunbroker.

Your best bet is going to be a .357 Magnum of some sort; this allows you to also shoot the more economical .38 Special as well.

I would strongly recommend a S&W 686, with a 4" or 5" barrel: it's a classic gun with perfect balance, and (if you're smart) you'll never get rid of it. It's built strong enough to handle a lifetime of magnum ammo.

Even if you don't handload, there are amazing variances in .357 Magnum ammunition depending on your purpose -- lots of different flavors to try that will do everything from hunt whitetail to frangible in-house self-defense rounds.

          cheers,

If you go down the path of .357mag, I personally like Ruger GP100's, S&W 686's / 586's, or if you can find one, Colt Pythons are very nice.

There is a S&W 610 for sale in the Calguns 'For Sale' Thread:

Looks like your search is over.

I just picked up a S&W 625 - this uses the .45acp round, and will be loaded with moon-clips. I don't see it as a disadvantage for a revolver...I have 10 moon-clips, and I'll have 60 rounds loaded up in an automatic speed loader. I haven't shot it yet...hopefully this coming Thursday evening will be some range time. But the trigger is sweet...especially the single action!!

Moon clips....forgot about that- I do reload and am always looking into getting another caliber or two under my belt- so the 38sp/357 does sound interesting. Anyone have feedback on the Ruger SP101??

+1 on the 625. We use the polymer Rimz clips. Works well and no tools needed.

I've seen several posts of the polymer moonclips that you can load/unload with just your hands....gotta check into that.

                    Where did you purchase yours?

The site above didn't work for me when I tried ordering. Also never could get in touch with folks calling the number from the site above.

The GP100's little brother. I have both an SP101 and a GP100. You can't go wrong with either.
